Contactless payments (tap-to-pay) are the fastest way to pay with your Ledgerline Card. No swiping, no inserting, no PIN—just tap and go.

How contactless works

Your Ledgerline Card has a built-in chip that communicates wirelessly with payment terminals. Simply hold your card 1-2 inches from the terminal until you see a check mark or hear a beep. The payment processes instantly.

When to use it

Contactless works at any store or restaurant with a modern card terminal. That's most places now: grocery stores, coffee shops, gas stations, pharmacies, restaurants, hotels, taxis, and more. If it has a contactless symbol (looks like a WiFi symbol turned sideways), your card works there.

How secure is it?

Contactless payments are actually very secure. Each transaction uses a unique code, so even if someone intercepts the signal, they can't use that code again. Large purchases ($250+) usually require a PIN for extra protection.

Using Apple Pay instead

If your iPhone or Apple Watch is closer than your card, Apple Pay offers the same benefits plus Face ID security. All contactless payment systems are secure. Use whichever is more convenient in the moment.

Turning contactless off

If you're worried about accidental charges, you can freeze your card in the app. This stops all contactless and chip payments immediately. Unfreeze when you want to use it again.
