If you see a charge you didn't make or don't recognize, Ledgerline has your back. Here's how to dispute it.
Spot a fraud charge?
If you notice a fraudulent charge in your transaction history, freeze your card immediately in the app. This stops any further unauthorized transactions from going through. Then start the dispute process.
How to file a dispute
Open Ledgerline and find the disputed transaction in your history. Tap it and select 'Dispute This Charge.' The app will ask what happened—that you didn't make it, didn't authorize it, or the merchant failed to deliver. Answer the questions and submit.
What happens next
We immediately begin investigating. For most fraudulent charges, we'll issue a temporary credit to your account within 24 hours while we investigate. You get your money back right away, and the investigation continues in the background.
Investigation timeline
Most disputes are resolved within 10 business days. For complex cases, it can take up to 45 days. We'll keep you updated via in-app notifications throughout the process.
We'll ask for details
To make your dispute airtight, we might ask follow-up questions like 'Did you contact the merchant first?' or 'Do you have a confirmation number from your transaction?' Providing details speeds up the process.
Friendly fraud
If we determine you actually authorized the transaction or the merchant delivered what they promised, we'll close the dispute. If we determine the merchant was at fault, the credit stays permanent.
